New York City's Municipal Security Section
From 1994 to 1997, Mr. Lifrieri
was a member of New York City's prestigious Municipal Security
Section where he headed the Protective Operations Unit. The Protective
Operations Unit was responsible for the technical protection of
Mayor Giuliani, his family and other elected NYC officials. In
this capacity, Mr. Lifrieri developed the current protocol for
threat assessment and investigation, as well as the protocol
for conducting site security surveys as related to all mayoral
appearances.
As head of the Protective Operations
Unit, Mr. Lifrieri's responsibilities also included protecting
critical NYC infrastructure and key public buildings. He was instrumental in the security designs and personally oversaw the implementation of security upgrades.
Russian Organized Crime Project
While he was a member of the
New York Police Department's Intelligence Division. Mr. Lifrieri was specially assigned to create the Department's Russian Organized Crime Project.
Service as a member of the NYPD
Mr. Lifrieri retired from the NYPD in January 2001 after 20 years of service.
Over the years he has received numerous decorations and awards
including the prestigious rank of "Detective First Grade." |
